Calica Construction to set up IT SEZ in Ognaj

Calica Construction and Impex Pvt. Ltd is setting up an IT/ITES SEZ in Ognaj village in Dascroi Taluka in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. The company has invested Rs. 20 million towards land and 120 million towards infrastructure and is likely to invest Rs. 100 million in 2013-14.

Jubilant Organosys to set up Niacinamide and 3-Cyanopyridine unit in Bharuch SEZ

Jubilant Organosys is setting up a Niacinamide and 3-Cyanopyridine units in the upcoming Bharuch Special Economic Zone in Gujarat. The plants will have a capacity of 10,000 tpa. It has acquired land of 300 acres in the SEZ. The product Niacinamide will help a lot in the Vitamin B3 market. Jubilant is one of the largest producer of Niacin & Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) with a backward integration programme being the largest producer of Beta Picoline- a critical raw material for manufacture of Vitamin B3. Jubliant has CRAM business orders worth of USD 1 billion

L&T defers engineering SEZ in Surat

L&T the construction and engineering major had planned to set up an engineering sector specific SEZ at Suvali and Mora in Choriyasi of Surat in Gujarat. According to government source, the SEZ was to come up on 100 hectares and likely to garner investment of Rs.40000 million. However, with the gloomy export market, the company has deferred its plans and has withdrawn its proposal from the SEZ approval board. Among L&T there are other companies which have deferred plans /denotified on SEZ are SPG Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Essar in Hazira SEZ, DLF etc.,

Aksh Optifibre plans new project in Kandla SEZ

Aksh Optifibre, largest manufacturer of optifibre in the country is planning to set up a green field project in Kandla port SEZ to save time and transportation cost for its exports. Currently, the company exports FRP rod to seven of the world largest optifibre manufacturers. The project will come up at an investment  of Rs. 60 million in the first phase and Rs. 80-100 million in the second phase. The new FRP unit will add another 33% to its existing production capacity and this new unit will become operational by May –June 2009.
