Krishnapatnam Port plans new SEZ in Nellore

Krishnapatnam Port is planning to set up a special economic zone at Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, near the vicinity of Krishnapatnam. It has floated a special purpose vehicle Krishnapatnam Infratech Private Limited (KIPL) and secured formal approvals. It has acquired around 2400 acres of land and it plans to acquire 12000 acres in total for the SEZ. The total investment for the project is estimated at Rs.60000 million. Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is in the process of acquiring land directly from land owners at the rate of Rs.0.5 million per acre

Achuthapuram SEZ Exports to reach Rs. 5000 million

Achuthapuram SEZ which is a multi product SEZ on 5770 acres of land in Vizag is expecting its exports to reach Rs.5000 million. APIIC, the promoter of SEZ has invested Rs.2500 million to develop the infrastructure. It has plans to invest Rs.1500-2000 million to develop roads, electricity and other infrastructure. Companies like W S Industries, Uniparts, Pokarna, Confidence Petroleum and Brandix India have set up units in the SEZ with totalling investment of over Rs.6700 million. Few more units that are coming up here are Anjaney Alloys Limited, Southern Online Bio and Nagarjuna Agrichem.

Kobelco set up unit in Sri City SEZ

Kobelco Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd (KCEI), a group company of Kobelco Construction Machinery Co Ltd, Japan is investing Rs.500 million to set up a unit in the private-sector multi-product SEZ in Tada in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The new unit is likely to go operational by early 2011 and is will have a capacity to manufacture 1200 units a year. This is the first unit in India and the company has 6 manufacturing locations across Japan, Thailand, China and India besides joint-ventures in Italy and US.

APIIC to set up 3 biotech SEZs in Anantapur, Kadapa and Hyd


Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) would develop a biotech special economic zone (SEZ) at the Industrial Growth Centre in Hindupur in Anantapur district of the state. The SEZ would come up in 70 acre and would be developed by Benguluru-based Salarpuria.
     
APIIC is also setting up up two more SEZs – one in Kadapa to focus on animal biotechnology and livestock. Two US-based companies are already setting up their units in this SEZ and another one in Hyderabad.
